CHARACTER HISTORY/BIO
Insurgency Wrestling Federation
She first joined Insurgency Wrestling Federation back in October 2012 and has enjoyed many accomplishments, including winning the Rising Phoenix (126 days) and High Impact (48 days) championships on separate occasions. However, since losing the High Impact title, she got caught in a string of losses that seriously marred her confidence. Her career downfall affected her personally and despite getting shots at the IWF Heavyweight title which she eventually lost, she continued to sink in her own misery. Soon she showed sudden unhinged behavior that had caused problems both socially and professionally, leading her to isolate herself from others including her own mentor and best friend at the time, Gordon Fury. She always tried to keep her personal life away from the ring as much as possible but it all proved to be too much for her to handle in October 2014. She became obsessed with revenge and injured one of her most bitter rivals to date, Jay Halc. In their final showdown, she faced Jay’s friend Parker Wayde at IWF’s biggest PPV of the year, From The Ashes and won despite interferences from Jay and his brother Kris. That was a huge moment for her, but it had taken a lot out of her so she let her contract end and left IWF quietly.
Portland Pro Wrestling
After several months on break, Blyss returns to the ring in Portland Pro (PPW). She’s one of the first few signees since the ban was finally lifted to allow those outside the city to join the roster and compete. Determined to make a statement, Blyss injured one of PPW’s top dogs Grayson Street in her debut before racking up consecutive wins all the way to the following supershow (Pilgrimage) where she defeated Steven Kingsley and became the new PPW Openweight champion. She continued to dominate with a title reign of 149 days with 2 successful defenses before losing the championship to Jackie Fowler at Equinox. Things then took a turn for the worse for her when her ankle got seriously hurt during a match. Two weeks later, PPW announced its last show before going on hiatus.
Insurgency Wrestling Federation - Resurgence comeback show
After her recovery, she took up coaching at Flex Johnson’s City of Angels Wrestling Dojo while still keeping a lookout for opportunities to wrestle every now and then. This next chance came when long-time friend Chuck Matthews decided to rebuild IWF and for the comeback show in July 2016, he had called up Blyss among many other huge wrestling stars around the region to wrestle. Chuck also allowed dream matches, so she picked Gavin Grimes, a fellow former Portland Pro wrestler and friend. But for a long time, she had grown resentful of him as she saw a bit of herself in him. Their rivalry grew so intense leading up to Resurgence that it got bumped up to main event. Unfortunately, Blyss lost and then went back into hiding during her recovery.
In Your House Wrestling Federation
Despite the humiliating defeat, Blyss still craved the spotlight. This time, she decided to venture far from home and into foreign territory — where she wanted to destroy and conquer. She had a shaky start with Matt Stone whose coattails she wanted to ride on to easy success. As part of her mind games to throw off Matt's rivals, she even debuted as The Grinning Bunny before revealing her true identity. Unfortunately, her master plan failed when he lost to Angelica Layne for the In Your House championship at Ground ’n Pound and left the company. Desperate to save face, she sabotaged her frenemy Gordon Fury's chance to fight for an IYH championship title shot. This immediately exploded in a fierce rivalry between the two that escalated Blyss' obsession with being better than Gordon and so she proposed the ultimate stipulation; if she lost, she would retire. And at Dawn of the Immortals, they fought in a huge emotional showdown that ended with him knocking her out with a second Destination Fucked. Neither him nor IYH saw her again after that fateful night…
…Until she returned with a second secret persona, Banshee. This time though, it seemed like her obsession for gold has taken a dark turn as she’s virtually unrecognisable with her full face makeup (sometimes depicting a melancholic expression) and her tendency to speak only in weird cryptic messages. Even her mannerisms had changed for the worse, much more aggressive than what Blyss was known for. She’s soon joined by four others: The Hellhound (Dante Locke), The Kraken (Marcus Black), The Blue Dragon (Stella Winters) and The Ikiryo (Seth Iser). Together, the group known as Bad Omens terrorised the locker room with their unique brand of violence, including later defeating the then IYH champion Shawn Fox and his team (Owen Gonsalves, Craig Anderson, Sean Hazard and Michael Diablo) at Unearthed. At first, it looked like Stella was the leader of the pack but after failing to capture the IYH championship from Fox, Banshee gained her shot next in the final cycle leading up to Dawn of Immortals. It was during this time that Banshee suddenly stepped up to lead the group as if Stella was never the leader in the first place. All fingers pointed to Banshee being the true head of the snake and even more so when she finally beat Shawn to be the new champion and then revealed her true identity. Blyss and the rest of Bad Omens enjoyed more months of collective success.
But when you’ve got a group of big egos, they tend to clash sooner or later. And eventually, the trust they had with one another began to dissipate and Blyss was left alone to face her biggest obstacles yet in Artemis Kaiser and finally her former teammate Iser. Once again, she found herself in another ‘loser leaves town’ match against Iser at Dawn of the Immortals. Despite her best efforts, Blyss lost and that was yet again the last time IYH and the rest of the wrestling world saw her.
Liberty Pro Wrestling
It’s not a Blyss return if it isn’t in controversial fashion: she caused a distraction during the main event between Derrick La’Bell and TJ Techniques at Liberty’s comeback show, Liberation. This answered everyone’s question as to who the final mystery big new signee that Lily Callaghan was alluding to.
But this only leads to more questions because knowing her history, what more does Blyss have in store for the Liberty roster? And is there some sort of wicked alliance between her and the new lady boss?
Only time will tell.
