Freedom was exactly what Becky and the Society envisioned, but Liberation was anything but. Despite the Society picking up a win in tag action, their outspoken leader, Becky was defeated in a spotlight placed main event. The momentum of being brought in to poison the company was already going in the wrong direction for her.
Becky Balfour: "This was a bad idea. I fucking knew it."
Becky was walking down a familiar hallway, towards the office of the man that hired her, Nathan Callaghan. She knew he would have a bat, and that things between them always got tense one way or another, but for the first time, Becky was considering throwing in the towel. Not one to quit she was beginning to think SHE was being set up after that match against Melissa Reeves.
Never one to knock on the door, instead, Becky opens it up and walks in. She was dressed in a black leather jacket, a black skirt with fishnet stockings and black boots. Her orange hair was pulled up in a messy bun.
Nathan looked up from his desk, his new bat sitting on his desk. He was wearing a white shirt and black jeans, along with a pair of boots.
Nathan Callaghan: “Balfour.”
Callaghan smirked as he stood up and pulled out a chair for her.
Nathan Callaghan: “Take a seat. Let’s talk.”
Becky walks over to the seat and looks Nathan up and down before cautiously taking a seat. She didn't trust him in this moment.
Becky Balfour: "Sitting. What's up? You called me here on a Wednesday night knowing I'm not in the best of moods. Are you going to push my buttons some more? You were always good at that."
Nathan Callaghan: “Your buttons?”
Nathan laughs as he walks behind Becky before making his way around his desk and taking a seat. He tilts his head as he studies over Becky before furrowing his brow.
Nathan Callaghan: “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
Nathan left the question open ended, not elaborating on why he said it.
Becky Balfour: "What's wrong with me? "
Becky places her hands on his desk but keeps her eyes on her boss.
Becky Balfour: "You're the one that brought me back. YOU reached out to me. YOU told me you wanted me to poison your company. And in less than a week, I'm getting pinned and losing any fucking credibility to HER of all people. What's wrong with YOU? When I agreed to work alongside you, the goal is to accomplish what you want, but what about me? Am I supposed to be a pretty little puppet that you just pull the strings on? I need power to get results.
I've been gone for a year. Before that I was gone for almost two. The fear they've had of me? It's dwindling. And you put me in a fucking terrible position. So what's wrong with me?"
Nathan leans back in his chair and bellows out an almost maniacal laugh.
Nathan Callaghan: “What wrong with you? You want to know?”
The owner of Liberty leans forward in his chair and begins to yell at Becky.
Nathan Callaghan: “You’re fucking weak. I noticed the look on your face the moment you walked in here and I could tell that you’re ready to just give up. That’s not the Becky Balfour I know! No, the Becky I know? She’d get back up after a loss like this and prove to the world exactly who she fucking is.”
Nathan grabbed his bat and slammed it on the desk before he continued to yell at Balfour.
Nathan Callaghan: “The Becky I know wouldn’t come here asking me for power, she would simply take it and do it in her own creative way. I didn’t hire this Becky sitting in front of me. I didn’t hire this Becky who’s concerned with fucking an annoying, immature brat like Syn. I hired Becky Fuckin’ Balfour. The leader of The Society. The first ever Liberty Champion.”
Nathan leaned forward, his voice lowering but still serious and stern.
Nathan Callaghan: “I hired the woman who tried to kill Spider and Lan Jones. So fucking show me that woman. Give me the woman I wanted to put my hands around and strangle because she fucking drove me crazy.”
He slammed his bat again.
Nathan Callaghan: “GIVE IT TO ME!”
He then swung his bat towards Becky but without even flinching or blinking an eye, Becky lifted up one hand and caught the bat.
'Take the power. Don't 'ask for it.
Nearly killing Lan and Spider.'
'WEAK'
It all plays through her head as she was stone faced, but holding the bat. Nathan was frozen too, he took a SHOT at her and she caught it in the most fearless of fashions.
Becky Balfour: "FUCK YOU."
Becky pulls the bat away and tosses it behind her without looking.
Becky Balfour: "You want THAT Becky Balfour? You want the girl who is going to cause this company to close its doors again, probably for good? You want her?"
She stands up and walks back. She picks up the bat and walks back towards Nathan. She points it under his chin, similar to how he pointed it at Syn at the show.
Becky Balfour: "You want me to take the power? I don't care about a loss, but I'm getting something out of this too. You want me to ruin Lily, to ruin Freedom? And when I become a casualty I'm supposed to play nice and be a good soldier? Fuck that. I AM the power."
She shoves the bat to his chin with a bit more authority.
Becky Balfour: "Tell me what happened last night wasn't a set up. And if you even fucking blink I'm redecorating these walls with your blood."
A huge grin runs across Nathan's face before he lets out a happy laugh.
Nathan Callaghan: "Goddamn girl, that's exactly what I was looking for."
Nathan knows better not to move though and he keeps on talking.
Nathan Callaghan: "Last night was not a set up. I understand why you think it was. I was your biggest enemy and you were mine. But I'm on your side. It's why I brought you here tonight."
He glances down at the bat under his chin then back at her.
Nathan Callaghan: "To remind you who you are. And now? You remember. Now? You can remind your two friends, Warren and Seth, who they are too."
Becky Balfour: "You get one more chance. But I need just as much out of this as you. What's our gameplan?"
Before he can get a word out, she shows mercy and pulls the bat away from his chin.
Becky Balfour: "I never forgot who I was. Just so you know."
She sits the bat down gently on his desk and runs her hand along the handle, ready to pick it back up if neccessary.
Becky Balfour: "I'm listening."
Nathan shook his head.
Nathan Callaghan: "The game plan?"
He looked at the bat in Becky's hand before looking back at her.
Nathan Callaghan: "You keep that bat and consider it a gift from me. One of many. And not only do I want to see you use it..."
Nathan stood up from his chair and walked towards Balfour.
Nathan Callaghan: "I want to see you use it on Lily and get my original bat back. Not only do I want you to destroy Freedom... I want you to destroy her."
Nathan then shrugged his shoulders.
Nathan Callaghan: "And then? When the deed is done? The sky is the limit. You and your family can have whatever they want. You have my word."
Becky Balfour: "Selling my soul to the devil again?"
She picks up the bat and twirls it a bit.
Becky Balfour: "This could come in handy."
Becky turns as if she's going to leave but stops. She turns back around with a snarl on her face. This was enough to even send a chill down Nathan's back. Not that he was scared, but it was certainly a sight to behold.
Becky Balfour: "Don't you ever fucking call Syn annoying again. This is business. THAT is personal. Don't make it personal."
It wasn't a question, more of a statement as Becky heads towards the door again, that bat still in her hand. Nathan grinned and nodded, knowing that Becky truly meant business now. Knowing that he accomplished his goal, he let the former and first ever Liberty Champion take her leave.
