Walking through the curtain to the backstage area, Rayven Hardy was grimacing and in a lot of pain. She did it. She had Scotty Latimer beat. A current top contender for the Freedom championship. This was her moment. Her chance to show the world that she hasn't lost a step, if anything, she has gained a few.
Then the music hit. THAT music. Kenzie Rydell was sure to emerge from the backstage area to ruin another match, but it was a distraction tactic. She never showed. Rayven was pushed from the top rope and finished off by a Final Wave.
Voice: Yo, Ray. Good job out there.
Rayven acknowledges the voice from behind her with a wave of her hand, but she wasn't stopping. It was more than a physical pain, her pride was hurting now. Falling to 1-2 since returning to the ring, this was not the return she was hoping for. Pushing her way into her locker room, she found a bouquet of roses. They were cute, and she didn't need to read the card to know who they were from, but she wasn't in the mood at the moment.
Sitting down on a chair, she begins to unlace her boots as her phone vibrates. She picks up the phone to see a text message which puts a smile on her face, but she doesn't respond. She still wasn't in the mood. Instead, after pulling off her boots, she holds her phone up.
Rayven Hardy: I can't let this go. I'm over it.
Ray doesn't bother to wipe the glistening sweat from her forehead, or touch up her makeup. She wasn't in the mood for any of that. Instead, she starts recording.
Rayven Hardy: Tonight was heartbreaking. I got the match I wanted. A one on one shot at the number one contender and I feel like we were having a pretty crazy match. Back and forth. We went at it. Near the end I feel like I had the upper hand and had him where I wanted him, but someone's music came on and I lost my focus. That was on me. I'm not taking anything away from Scotty, I think he killed it. But I want to go again. Like as soon as possible. I know I can beat you. But enjoy your moment, you did what anyone would have done in the situation. But let's talk about someone else....
Kenzie Rydell. Our returns are linked together. My first match back ends up being your big surprise return. You chose to run to the ring during my match, attack me of all people, and cost me a shot at Freedom gold. Kudos, you got one up on me. Then, we end up teaming together and I carried you to a win. Straight up. Tonight I let you do your thing. I didn't attack you during your match, but what happens? You come out AGAIN during mine and ruin it. Well, you didn't come out but you made sure your music was played, knowing what it would do.
But I'm over it. Enough is enough. I'm not riding this out for week after week. I'm not waiting til a super show and I'm not dealing with your 'inspiring' ways anymore. What I'm asking for, and what I hope I receive is a one on one match against you, where there has to be a winner by pinfall or submission. No count outs, no running away, nothing. As much as you want to use me to springboard your own career, I'm not with it. I'm not playing the back and forth, and I'm not resorting to your tactics of ruining matches. I came back to compete and you're ruining that.
So Lily...I'm begging you, give me Kenzie. Next show. And then please put me on a path to gold because I've given everything I've had since I came back, and I've been cheated out of a top title match and then a match against the top contender. I'll give my all, and all I ask for in return is to rid Liberty of Kenzie, and maybe some consideration for what has been taken from me.
And by saying tonight, it will be last night when you guys see this because I'm not in the mood to post anything tonight, but Tuesday when you see it, just know I love each and every one of my fans. Your support has been unreal and I can't thank you enough. Sorry for letting you down, but I'm about to address this problem ASAP. Peace."
Ray holds up the peace sign before shutting off her phone, ready to let the events of the night, and the pain, truly sink in.
