CHARACTER HISTORY/BIO
(please include previous promotions and title reigns at the least)
Growing up in Japan, Skye Summers was her dad’s biggest fan. Not only was he a great dad but he was a phenomenal wrestler. He was a gaijin, a foreigner wrestling in the Japanese territories and winning the crowd over with his take no prisoners attitude. When Skye would ask her father, “Daddy, are you a bad guy?” he’d slide his hand under his little girl’s chin, look her in the eyes and say, “Sweetie I’m whatever they want me to be. If they want to cheer me I’ll give them a reason to cheer. If they want to boo me I’ll give them a reason to boo. But I’ll never ever give them a reason not to care.”
She was enthralled by the way he held a crowd in the palm of his hand and long before spectators would fill the arena Skye would be out there in the ring pretending it was her entertaining the masses. The other wrestlers loved her. They treated her like she was their own and when she wanted to learn about the business they taught her willingly. They taught her to strike first. They taught her to strike hard. They taught her never to miss, because when you miss you lose the advantage. They taught her that over in the States wrestling was very much about pomp and circumstance but in Japan it was about the beauty of combat. She learned to respect that beauty and she learned how to bend it to her will.
At the age of 21 she debuted alongside her father as a tag team. She listened and she learned and she chose her spots. Eventually those spots became more and more prevalent and soon she was the star of the team. While her father was old school Skye was the best mix of new and old, and the crowd was eating it up. Skye and her father enjoyed a great tag run, won numerous titles and then Skye set out on a singles career. It was rough at first without her father there hanging onto the tag rope but eventually she got the hang of it and once again her star shined brighter than most.
With a successful singles career blossoming Skye wanted more than anything to bring her style to the States but she didn’t want to abandon those who had mentored her. So she stayed and she fought and she won. Eventually her father needed to retire due to lingering injuries and they got together for one last tag match. The father and daughter team united once again. They hit all their spots, walked away victorious and her father got the send off he deserved.
Now with her family moving back to the States and her obligations in Japan fulfilled, Skye turns her attention towards wrestling in the US. The question isn’t, is Skye ready to wrestle in the US, it’s is US wrestling ready for Skye Summers?
