Kendrick Kross: Finally. I actually was able to do what I wanted, Claire.
Claire Kross: We both knew you could big bro.
Just as Claire finishes her sentence the lights flicker on and Kendricks and Claire’s new gym, KrossFit as light. Kendrick walks throughout it as he runs his hands on the machines and then over to the training part, running his hands on the brand new rings and heavy bags.
Kendrick Kross: I’ve been doubted about stuff my whole career, Claire. It’s just how things have gone with me. Not a single person could envision me being a champion like I am now. Not a single person had much faith in me and now look where I’m at. Owner of my own Academy.
Claire Kross: Others may not have had faith in you but you know even with what we’ve gone through in our lives, I had always supported you bro. Even if it hadn’t seemed that way and look. This is all due to your hard work. Your almost five years in this business has built all up to this.
Kendrick stops at one of the heavy bags and holds onto it as he looks at Claire who hits the bag a couple times.
Kendrick Kross: Almost five years is crazy you know, I can’t believe it’s been that long. With what I’ve done in my career though I haven’t done this and now that I finally have I need this to succeed, Claire. It has to succeed. Not because I just want it to, but because if it doesn’t it can hurt my legacy. Hell I already have people that doubt I can get any further than I have in my career, which I’ll change.
If this doesn’t get to where I want it to go then I’ll be guaranteed to be called just some random person who tried to do something and who tried to open an academy and gym but failed at that.
Kendrick slams the side of the bag as hard as he can before calming himself down.
Claire Kross: Don’t worry about that, Kendrick. We both know that what they say isn’t true and we both know that this gym is going to succeed. We’re going to make sure it does. You and I both. This isn’t failing, it can’t fail. I know well both do whatever it takes to make sure it doesn’t.
Kendrick smiles a bit and looks at his sister as he releases the bag and walks away from it with his sister by his side. He slides into one of the rings and stands in the middle of it.
Kendrick Kross: I’ve put a lot of blood, sweat and tears in a ring like this. I’ll be damned if my work I’ve done ends up being for nothing. This gym will become a name because I’ll make it a name. I’ll make sure I put what I’ve done in my career into this gym.
KrossFit is going to be a gym people will want to come to. Not just want but will be glad they came to Claire.
Kendrick stays standing in the middle of the ring as he looks down at his sister who has a big smile on her face.
Claire Kross: There’s the spirit we both need, the spirit that is going to make this gym and academy succeed. We aren’t going to have failure associated with our name or this gym. KrossFit is going to be known and will have people wanting to come to it.
Kendrick smiles as he sits down in the middle of the ring,
Kendrick Kross: I’ve already had enough people claim I’m a failure and not worth anything in the business. That I’m nothing more than a midcarder, that it’s all I’ll ever be.
That right there has pissed me off. So this gym? It has to succeed. I can’t have people thinking the same thing about this gym as they do me. You know what that’ll do to not just my career but me?
Kendrick slams his fist in the mat and shakes his head as he yells, his voice echoing throughout the room.
Kendrick Kross: I know I’m a champion now but that doesn’t mean I don’t doubt myself, I don’t believe what the outsiders say. I’ve heard it since day one and you know how much that’s affected my career? A lot.
Kendrick takes a few deep breaths as he lays back holding back tears as he takes a few deep breaths.
Kendrick Kross: That’s one reason this can’t fail, this can’t be something bad people talk about. My career can’t be known as a failure. Even if people believe my in ring career is one, I can’t have this part become one. The gym can’t fail, if it does that means I’m a failure all around and that’d prove people right and be me letting plenty of people down.
Claire slides in the ring and comes and sits by Kendrick looking down at him wiping a single tear away from his face.
Claire Kross: Kendrick, your in ring career isn’t a failure and this gym won’t be one either. We’re both going to make sure that this succeeds. I know in your heart you know it will, and that you know that you aren’t a failure.
Kendrick looks up at his sister and shakes his head.
Kendrick Kross: You may think I’m not but I know I am. This gym can’t fail though, it just can’t. My in career might seem like it is at the moment and over the past five years but I CAN’T let this gym be one.
