LIBERATION: EPISODE TWENTY-TWO
LIVE ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH, 2018 FROM THE HAMMERSTEIN BALLROOM IN MANHATTAN, NEW YORK
PRE-SHOW MATCH ONE: SINGLES MATCH
Voidsar vs Vitor Mata & Isla Carter
wrote:
Winner: Voidsar
Finishing Move: The Abyss
Near Falls: Voidstar (1), Vitor (0), Isla (0)
Match Length: 03:34
Match Notes:
With Maverick Thorn deciding to not show up, Voidstars match turned into a handicap match but it was hardly one. Isla Carter eventually ran away from ringside and to the back, clearly she was afraid of Voidstar. Vitor Mata ended up at the wrong end of The Abyss (Packaged Piledriver) before Voidstar pinned him and got the win.
Post Match:
Voidstar was not finished as he wanted to set an example. He put Mata into Eternal Darkness (Texas Cloverleaf), which Mata couldnt escape. He screamed out in agony as Voidstar held him in the hold for quite some time before finally picking up Vitor and hitting him with The Abyss again. Voidstar stood over Mata with an evil grin, enjoying the work that he put in for his first ever Liberty Pro match.
MATCH ONE: SINGLES MATCH
Scarlett Highland vs Mikah
wrote:
Winner: Mikah
Finishing Move: The Mikahangelo (French TKO)
Near Falls: Mikah (3), Scarlett (4)
Match Length: 07:33
Match Notes:
This match went back and forth for sometime before Scarlett thumbed Mikah in the eye. Scarlett leaned back into the corner as Mikah tried to gather herself. Scarlett went to charge for That WIll Leave A Scar but as she did, Kris Ryans came from out of nowhere as he leaped up onto the apron. Scarlett went to knock him off but he jumped off himself. When Scarlett turned, Mikah quickly took her out with The Mikahangelo (French TKO). Mikah pinned Scarlett and got the three count, picking up a huge win over the Trials Champion in her debut.
Post Match:
Mikah celebrated her win with Kris as a wounded Scarlett exited the ring and screamed at the two, clearly she was frustrated with what happened.
BACKSTAGE
NO!
NO, NATHAN!
THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME AFTER ALL THESE YEARS?
The feed abruptly cut to the backstage area where Nora Lee was seen standing in front of Liberty Pro Wrestling owner, the intellectual Nathan Callaghan
Nathan had been attempting to get into his office. However, Nora had a bone to pick with the man who brought the spotlight back to professional sports in the entirety of New York City (because we know the Knicks arent doing that).
Nora Lee: I didnt ask for a chance at the Anarchy Championship! I see a bigger picture to my being here in Liberty, Nathan!
Nathan Callaghan: Mhm...
Nora iterated to the man who held a hand in her training as a youngster.
Nora Lee: I see THE PROCESS. And you know what that is .its me getting my name to a much bigger stage. And I cant do that if you send a near three HUNDRED pounder my way.
The Process let out a loud scoff.
Nora Lee: Worst of all? I still care about you even though I know you did it because you feel Warren can put me back on the shelf so I leave this matter alone. You were never one to play favorites when its about business. It doesnt matter to you that Ive been a family friend of the Callaghans..
Nathan cracked a smirk.
Nathan Callaghan: It sure doesnt. And Im glad I helped teach you to know what a proper businessperson is. Because, honey, if I just gave anyone .including yourself...whatever they want even if its to the detriment to my company Id be like every two month owner The Coalitions had.
Nathan stepped forward - making eye contact with Lee.
Nathan Callaghan: Now big daddy-o aint never said that you dont have talent, Norie. If I didnt think you did...I wouldnt have ever let you train with us.
Nora folded her arms with a heated expression on her face. Callaghan removed the tooth pick from his mouth.
Nathan Callaghan: You just cant be trusted with too big a responsibility right now. Whether I like you or not?....I wont make decisions that arent right. Thats why Liberty has been around this long.
Nora Lee: Natha-
Nathan Callaghan: You arent a little girl anymore, stop throwing tantrums. Take your chance at the Anarchy Championship. Prove to me that you can hold up against Warren
Nora rolled her eyes.
Nora Lee: You know what?! Youre absolutely right. What better way to prove that Im here in this business for the long haul this time than to beat someone whose match as big an impact on the CWC as Warren? Augh!
She stepped out of the way of Nathans office before storming off in preparation for what would be the biggest match of her career. One question remained...Would her body betray her again?...
MATCH TWO: FIRST BLOOD FOR THE ANARCHY CHAMPIONSHIP
Nora Lee vs Warren Corbett
wrote:
Winner: Warren Corbett
Finishing Move: Barbwired 2x4
Near Falls: N/A
Match Length: 10:43
Match Notes:
In this match, Nora Lee really showed what she was made of when she took Warren Corbett to town. She showed off her athleticism, not letting the big man catch her as she hit him with a plethora of strikes and kicks while avoiding his grasp. Eventually the match led to the outside, where the two fought back and forth. Nora shoved Warren head first into the ring post but he didnt bleed from it, though he was obviously dazed. Nora then took him out with a hurricanrana. She went under the ring and grabbed a chair. She waited for Warren to get up and she smacked him right across the forehead with the chair but still, Warren did not bleed. Warren fell back and landed on the announce table. Nora then climbed the turnbuckle and leaped off but Warren stood up from the table and somehow caught Nora. He then slammed her through the table with a brutal spinebuster. Warren then went under the ring and grabbed a barbedwire 2X4. He waited for Nora to get up and he swung the 2X4 at her but she ducked. Nora dropkicked Warren and he stumbled back. She then charged him but this time he swung the barbedwire 2x4 at her and connected it into Noras previously injured knee. She fell to the ground grasping it before Warren slammed the 2X4 into her upper shoulder, causing her arm to bleed and the referee called for the bell.
Post Match:
The match was over and Warren was announced the winner. Medical personnel went to check on Nora Lee but Warren shoved them aside, he clearly wanted to teach Nora a lesson but Cole Gregory came rushing out from backstage. He entered the ring and quickly jumped on top of the turnbuckle before leaping off of it and he took Warren out. Cole then grabbed the Anarchy Championship and waited for Corbett to get up and when he did, Cole took him out with the a shot of the belt to the head. Cole then turned and went to check on Nora, who stumbled up to her feet. She limped slightly but told Cole and the medical team that she could walk under her own power, clearly showing her pride and toughness.
BACKSTAGE
Backstage, Romeo and Emily were heading for the entrance ramp when Avery Smith came from out of nowhere and she decked Romeo in the face with a chair. Emily tried to fend Avery off but she took Emily out as well. She slammed the chair down onto the two for good measure before letting out a laugh.
Avery Smith: I am SO glad that the team is back together. Isnt this fun, Emily? Whats that?
Avery bent down and cupped her ear.
Avery Smith: I cant hear you!
Avery then slammed the chair across Emilys back and she screamed out in pain.
Avery Smith: Ah, there it is! Im glad you agree. You look a little sore though, I think we might need to cancel our match this week but hey, we always have next week to team up!
Avery grinned before walking away and the scene cut away.
BACKSTAGE
The scene cuts to the back where Cole Gregory is pacing back and forth, still clearly amped up after coming to Nora Lees aid. He sees the camera and shakes his head, taking a moment to think out his words.
Cole Gregory: That wasnt right. I get that its the Anarchy Championship and its almost an anything goes championship but what almost happened out there wasnt right. When the last bell sounds? That should be the end of it. Warren Corbett? He doesnt get to hand pick people he wants to hurt and shorten their careers. He doesnt get to make that choice.
Cole shakes his head again, before running his hand against the back of his neck.
Cole Gregory: I get that there has been all this extra stuff with Society and Ascendancy where people are getting arrested or beaten down or all of that but you know what? Keep it between yourselves. If you wanna bash each others heads in and share a jail cell afterwards, have at it. But Warren? Youre not gonna push your weight around on people that arent looking to fight you outside the ring. So keep it between the bells or I will show you how my punches and kicks have more knockout power than the stench of all your followers combined . And then Im going to take the Anarchy Championship.
MATCH THREE: SIX-MAN TAG TEAM MATCH
New Jet City (Chelsea, Kris & Keisha) vs Avery Smith, Emily Jackson & Romeo Black
wrote:
Winner: No Contest
Finishing Move: N/A
Near Falls: N/A
Match Length: 00:00
Match Notes:
Jet City was left standing in the ring, obviously confused at what had just occurred backstage with Avery, Emily and Romeo. The announcer soon announced that the match was cancelled. Jet City looked to exit the ring but Girls of Summer and Scarlett rolled into the ring from behind. They attacked Kris, Chelsea and Keisha from behind, nailing all three of them with their respective championship titles in their heads. Girls of Summer then took Chelsea and dragged her out of the ring before whipping her into the railing hard and then whipping her into the steel steps. Chelsea let out a yelp as she gripped her shoulder. The Girls then entered the ring as Scarlett took out Kris with That Will Leave A Scar. Mikah made her way down to the ring and tried to make the save as her and a recovered Keisha fought off Scarlett and the girls but the numbers were too much as they took out Mikah and Keisha as well. Medical personnel then hit the ring to check on Chelsea, who was rolling on the ground in obvious pain as she held her hurt shoulder.
BACKSTAGE
Coral Azul: Empirical Evidence.
One half of the Liberty Pro Tag Team Champions, Coral Azul steps forward as the cameras go to the back, an area has been set aside and set dressed much like a classroom. There before the chalkboard stands Nami Azul, her Liberty tag belt around her bare waist - bare, because much as her twin Coral she is dressed in a white button up shirt thats been unbuttoned to the third button and then opened at the bottom to tie up under her breasts, leaving her belly bare save for the belt. Her curvy hips were covered by a very short pleated tartan skirt in very particular colors and pinned to each of the girls shirts is a crest with an oak tree and a wolf. They are all smiles as Coral stops to adjust the thigh high white stocking topped with a bow in the same tartan as the skirt, her black patent leather shoes tapping on the tiles. To the side several of the crew are just hanging around watching but the Girls pay them no mind.
Nami Azul: For those of you that dont know, like, common sense things to know, Empirical Evidence is also known as sensory experience, is the knowledge received by means of the senses, particularly by observation and experimentation.
She winks as Coral looks over at her impressed, and then giggles.
Nami Azul: Thank you Wikipedia! Anyway, it came to us the other day that people in Liberty are missing the point. We?
Nami indicates her sister and herself.
Nami Azul: We are your Liberty Pro Wrestling tag team CHAMPIONS. Now unlike the hot mess that is hashtag The Society? We have always given credit where its due. And while its true we told Beckamosaurus Balfouritis Lawlessarus that wed give her the recognition she wanted if she beat us last week?
Coral Azul: We also told her she had to do it without help or interference, which she did not. Suck it Becky, Suck it.
The twins beam huge smiles and jiggle entirely unnecessarily for a moment before Coral continues.
Coral Azul: We, unlike them, arent going to go begging for your respect because we dont care. The real people in this business know we work very hard to improve ourselves on top of being athletically gifted and entirely unafraid to do whatever it takes to win. And that takes us to the match we have this show, with a thrown together team of two people that publically squabble about not trusting each other.
Nami Azul: And somehow, Helena Noir thinks that she can pick a partner out of thin air, her ass, the deep forest or Narnia - as long as its NOT Katie Anderson mind you, that shes stuck with tonight, and just waltz in and take the titles we earned and adore.
Coral and Nami Azul: Eat it, Helena. Eat it, Katie.
The Girls giggle, and step back, revealing a projector that they turn on, and yes indeed as promised there is a PowerPoint with charts and graphs that goes through lots of really derogatory stats and numbers, then a few pictures of Helena and Katie that are drawn on to have moustaches and no thigh gaps.
Coral Azul: Now if this isnt enough evidence, I suggest that you take a good long look at what happens out there later. Right now? Weve got punch and pie.
Theres a cheer from the people watching, and then the cameras cut elsewhere.
MATCH FOUR: TAG TEAM MATCH
Finn Brady & Izzi Grimes vs Anastasia Hayden & Isabella Strickland
wrote:
Winner: Anastasia Hayden & Isabella Strickland
Finishing Move: She Was Only Seventeen
Near Falls: N/A
Match Length: 3:54
Match Notes:
This match wasnt even close, as Finn and Izzi were clearly outmatched by the star power of Anastasia Hayden and the brute strength of her friend, Isabella Strickland. Eventually Anastasia took out Izzi with She Was Only Seventeen (running front leg drop kick). Ana pinned and Finn went for the save but Isabella cut him off and took him out with a big boot. Anastasia picked up the three count for her team and the victory.
Post Match:
The bell was rung and Ana and Isy were announced the winners. The referee went to raise Anas hand but she yanked it away. Isabella then grabbed Anastasias hand and raised it in the air before pointed at Anastasia with her other hand. Anastasia then took both of her hands and made a championship motion around her waist, clearly a sign towards Melissa Reeves, the Liberty Champion.
BACKSTAGE
Following their match, the cameras catch up with Anastasia Hayden and Isabella Strickland, the two beaming with smiles after their victory.
Anastasia Hayden: Thats how a team works right there.
Isabella holds her hand up high and Anastasia jumps to complete the high five; the two overjoyed.
Isabella Strickland: Thats the result you get when you combine two of the absolute greatest to step inside a Liberty Pro ring. Not only are we best friends, the best wrestlers, but hell...were the best damn tag team here too!
Anastasia Hayden: And it doesnt matter how much success Isy or I have in the ring because at the end of the day...were still the best. Belts or not belts, victories or no victories...no one in Liberty Pro is even close to being on our level.
Isabella nods her head in agreement.
Isabella Strickland: Nothing will stop us from reaching the top. No one will be able to stop us.
Anastasia Hayden: No one could ever dream of stopping us. Not #TheSociety, not Melissa Reeves...NOBODY! Theres a reason that Nathan Callaghan came to ME. All you other fucks were so eager for the New York City lights...but not me. Why do I need them when I shine brighter than every fucking light in this city?
Isabella Strickland: All you kids can run around, thinking that youre stars or that youre the best
A scoff is heard from Ana.
Anastasia Hayden: But youd just be lying to yourselves. Nathan knew what kind of star power I have. When that Becky Balfour won the Liberty Championship? He called me because he saw the end of days coming. When Melissa Reeves was on the verge of winning, he gave me an opportunity to earn my chance at being able to cash in a title shot whenever I pleased.
She sports a cocky smirk at the mention of it.
Anastasia Hayden: Heres the cold hard facts, kids. Anastasia Hayden is the past, the present, and the future of Liberty Pro Wrestling. I am their savior! And Melissa...Becky? Ill be keeping a close eye on you two tonight because it doesnt matter which one of you leaves the cell tonight...leaves the arena next show...Im always going to be there and that means there will always be threat of hearing, AND YOUR NEW LIBERTY CHAMPION...ANASTASIA HAYDEN!
With that, Ana flashes a devious smile before her and Isabella head off as the camera cuts elsewhere.
MATCH FIVE: SINGLES MATCH
Carina Eventide vs Cole Gregory
wrote:
Winner: Cole Gregory
Finishing Move: Cole-Lateral Damage (Springboard Roundhouse)
Near Falls: Carina (2), Cole (2)
Match Length: 8:23
Match Notes:
Carina was the early aggressor in the match. Starting out with a strong mixture of kicks to the legs and mid-section of her opponent. Cole backed away trying his best to counter off the strikes, but Carina was relentless pushing forward after each kick. Having backed Cole into the corner speared him into the corner. She then started to kick him in the gut as he sat down in the corner, unable to counter. The referee counted to four for Carina to get off, eventually getting her to back off. Carina kept her momentum going Cole stumbled up to his feet and Carina took him down with a roundhouse kick. She pinned him but he kicked out after two. Carina then hit the top rope and went for a frog splash but Cole managed to roll out of the way. He took Carina out with a running knee and pinned her but only managed a two count. The two went back and forth for some time, trading a few pinfalls before Carina had Cole lined up for a superkick. She went for it but he ducked. Carina turned around and Cole laid her out with Cole-Lateral Damage (Springboard Roundhouse) before pinning her and getting the three count.
Post Match:
Cole was announced the winner after a hard fought battle with Carina and his music hit. Carina got up to her feet and looked at Cole, who extended his hand. Carina reached forward and shook Coles hand a gave him a nod of approval.
BACKSTAGE
The Can Am Champion Helena Noir was sitting backstage with the title resting on her lap, seemingly deep in thoughts.
Helena Noir: Another week, another title shot And this time, against mister Callaghans girls, Cora and Nami. Its no secret that Im not fond of tag team wrestling, I do much better on my own. Ive always been a sort of lone wolf for the biggest part of my career, and I think we can say it paid out dividends
She smiled, lightly patting her title before resting it on her shoulder as she stood.
Helena Noir: But the main reason is that I dont trust people. Not anymore. Of course, there are a few exceptions, but Id be lying if I told you that Katie Anderson is one of them. She already showed her true colors when she jumped on me last week, so I think Id be forgiven if I take everything she says with a grain of salt. Nonetheless, I can assure her and everyone else that I will be the professional you all know. Just like any other Saturday, Ill step into the ring and give my very best. Just like any other Saturday, I wont back away from a fight, no matter the circumstances.
When she finally raised her head, it became clear that she wasnt lying, determination burning in her eyes.
Helena Noir: The Girls of Summer are actually tough competitors. I wont be the one denying it, or saying that they owe their success to the extra-curricular activities they engage with our boss. Maybe part of it, but sure they have some skills. I mean in the ring, of course.
And as I said, I highly doubt me and my partner will be on the same page tonight. Maybe Katie wont actually trying anything fancy, but her promises dont sound as reassuring as she hopes they would. Ill be keeping an eye on her, constantly.
Am I disrespecting and underestimating my opponents by doing so? Absolutely not, no matter what they think or say, Im not taking them lightly. But neither they should.
I never asked for this match, and quite frankly, I have no idea why Nathan booked it.
Maybe its just a way to make his girls look good, giving them a, possibly, easy defense against two opponents who are not on the same page, and probably not even on the same book.
Maybe he just wants to spice things up between me and Katie.
But regardless, even though its an opportunity I never wanted, I wont pass on it.
And just like that, she walked away.
BACKSTAGE
The feed cuts to backstage where someone in a full-on Ghostbusters suit is walking down the hall. Its Brendan Callaghan, of course, and he carefully looks around, as if expecting something scary to pop out. Ever since last weeks encounter with Voidstar, he has been growing just a bit paranoid. He even had to have his girlfriend Jade Night pull him out of the mens shower room after Liberation ended, all because he was afraid to leave the building. But this week is going to be different. Brendan has a plan and its, well, thiswalking around with the Ghostbusters equipment that he rented from some costume shop.
As he comes up a corner, he braces himself before swinging around it.
Brendan Callaghan: AHA!!!
But no ones there. He shrugs and carries on. For several moments all seems normal. The more he walks, the more confident he gets. And then the lights begin to flicker. Random objects fall over behind him. And where have all the people disappeared off to??
Brendan spins on the spot, gun out. After a brief but intense experience, the lights return to normal. He looks around, confused, and rubs his eyes. Shrugging, he turns to continue and bumps straight into VOIDSTAR.
The masked man snarls as Brendan looks him in the eye.
Voidstar: Boo.
Brendans eyes widen in fear but his legs are frozen on the spot despite desperately wanting to run. Somehow, his hands can move as he fumbles with the gun but accidentally drops it.
Brendan Callaghan: Ohshitohshitohshit .
Brendan looks at Voidstar then at the gun and back up to Voidstar. Gulp.
Brendan Callaghan: Please! I I just wanna talk!
Void takes a step forward, pushing Brendan back, and tilts his head.
Voidstar: Talk is cheap, dont you think?
He straightens his head again and looks at the gun, but ignores it as a mere toy.
Voidstar: Im more of a doer than a speaker.
He takes another step forward, fists clenched. Raising his hands at chest level as if in surrender, Brendan carefully takes a couple steps back and the gun, attached to his pack, slides across the floor along with him.
Brendan Callaghan: And what are you gonna do to me? II didnt do anything to you! Are youare you gonna hurt me? Did my father hire you to do this??
Voidstar: Do I look like a mercenary, boy? Your father is nothing to me.
Another step forward for Void, another back for Brendan.
Voidstar: I told you, you exist. Youre not worthy of being in this industry, let alone out here vying for championships.
He scoffs.
Voidstar: Youre weak.
Brendan lets out a nervous chuckle, a sort of defense mechanism, as he continues to plead.
Brendan Callaghan: Hey man, if you wanted that Trials title, all you had to do was ask! I couldve given you my spot in that match last week! I could talk to my dad for you, you know? I mean, I could help you out, okay? Just let me help you! Hur hur hur...
He laughs nervously again, desperately hoping for Voidstar to let him go now. Instead, Void snarls again, making Brendan jump.
Voidstar: Help? I dont need any help. If I want that title, Ill take it. The fact you bend knee so easily only proves my point. You dont belong here. This is a harsh place and only a predator will survive it. You? Youre just prey.
Brendan glances around, looking for an escape. As he slowly takes yet another step back, his hand reaches for the hose to discreetly pick the gun up from the floor.
Brendan Callaghan: Look, I Im just a guy who wrestles, okay? Its just a job! Im like, the LEAST threatening person around here cause I dont even WANT what you want, okay? You can have all the titles you want, Ill gladly step out of your way! Just tell me, gently, and Ill do it! Just d-dont hurt me
Brendan continues to slowly pull up the hose, hoping not to draw any attention from Voidstar.
Voidstar: You are weak and a fraud. Nothing more than the son of the owner.
He pressed a finger onto Brendans chest. Brendan winces in fear, nearly dropping the gun again.
Voidstar: And because youre such a coward, I will hurt you. A lot. Over and over.
Hearing the word choice, Brendan looks like hes about to piss his pants at this point. He starts to breathe at a much faster pace as he tries to gather whats left of himself.
Brendan Callaghan: Oh yeah?
Brendans voice goes a little higher in pitch due to the growing fear, tightening his grip on the gun hose before whipping it up and blasting a stream of green slime right at Voidstars face.
Brendan Callaghan: Holy shit, it WORKS!!!
Brendans face lights up in pleasant surprise but the smile quickly fades when Void growls and uses his gloved hand to remove the gunk from his face. Brendan immediately regrets his decision and starts to panic to put the gun away. But Voidstar shudders with rage and grabs the gun, tearing it from its hose, and tosses it aside. The weapon slides across the floor and way out of reach.
Before Brendan can do anything else, Voidstar backs Brendan up against the wall and gets right into his face, a hand on his collar.
Brendan Callaghan: Waitwaitwaitwait!!!!
Without another word, Voidstar lifts Callaghan up from the ground a little and rears back, ready to strike. But then the lights go out. When they return, Voidstars gone and Brendan is sat against the wall, dazed and confused. His heart is pounding in his chest and he looks around, searching for any signs of Voidstar.
With shaky hands, Brendan retrieves a strange device from his pack and holds it up seemingly for some sort of reading. But the device doesnt even buzz or make a sound. In his panic, he smacks it twice as if to force it to work even though it already is switched on. It makes a beeping sound but nothing. So he puts it down and tries to calm down, leaning his head back on the wall. Sweat glistens on his forehead. He looks around again and still, theres no one else in sight.
Brendan Callaghan: Shit.
He sits there, completely frozen in fear. And too far from the gun thats left almost near the end of the hallway. He looks down and just grips the device tighter in his hand before the scene cuts away.
MATCH SIX: TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
Girls of Summer© vs Helena Noir & Katie Anderson
wrote:
Winner: Girls of Summer
Finishing Move: Sandy Cheeks
Near Falls: Helena Noir (1), Katie Anderson (1), Girls of Summer (2)
Match Length: 5:52
Match Notes:
This match was back and forth between the two teams for the early going but it didnt take long for Helena and Katie to have their differences. Katie had just fought off Coral after taking a great deal of punishment and Helena tagged herself in, as she was the fresher competitor. Katie did not appreciate being tagged out and she let Helena know it. The two argued before Katie shoved Helena and then exited the ring. Noir yelled at Anderson, who simply shrugged with a grin on her face. Helena then turned around and she was met by Girls of Summer, who nailed her with Sandy Cheeks - Running High knee to the face (Nami) followed by a legdrop (Coral). Coral pinned Helena and got the three count.
Post Match:
The Girls of Summer exited the ring and grabbed their titles, celebrating their victory. Helena staggered to her feet and she was taken out by Katie, who got back in the ring and hit Noir with a superkick. Katie stood over Helena with a grin as the fans bood.
BACKSTAGE
Seth Lawless steps into the scene he has a cut on his forehead from the match he had with Jackson Idol last night. He felt his wrists as well as they had been shackled again from last night because of the arrest that he had to go through along with the rest of his family and some members of the Ascendency. He closed his eyes a bit as he shook his head. You could tell that he was frustrated as he had started to hit a skid in his career. Losing his EPW Tag Titles and then losing to Jackson. He took a deep breath as he looked at the camera.
Seth Lawless: Aria, you have bit off a lot more than you can chew little girl. I had your little boy toy beat but you had to come make the save and throw that door into this beautiful bald head which is now torn open. Which beld in that match not just because of you but because of Jackson. This pisses me off I took the match with Jackson to make an example out of him and I had him beat, I had him bleeding I had him on the ground. Maybe, I should have put him away when I had the chance but I got greedy and tried to take him out of the picture for good. I failed at that and I have to take that to the bank now. I have to look at myself in the mirror and know that this war has just begun. We are going to go toe to toe a lot more than I could care for right now. This whole war has gone on to long for my liking because we all just keep doing the same thing over and over again. It needs to end and it will end but there will be a lot more broken bodies along the way. Hopefully, one is yours Aria because you are the one that I need to take care of now. I am done with Jackson, I want you and I want you to pay for the sins that you have created. Burning down our wearhouse and pissing me right the fuck off.
Seth shakes his head and you can see that he was fuming now. He clenched his fists now as he shook his head at the camera again.
Seth Lawless: But that isnt the battle tonight. Tonight I step back into a cage, well this time it is a cell but I can let all of my aggression out on two people and they cannot escape. Finally the boss man has made a good match and he is allowing myself, Gray, and Trent take Coda out for good and because of her big mouth she has put Honey in harms way and well she is going to feel sorry for sometime because we are going to hurt both of them tonight. I know that I can be a fun loving guy and I can make people laugh and I enjoy that but sometimes I am pushed to where I need to fight and I need to show my aggressive side and that is what will happen tonight, I am done being pushed around I am a damn champion in the CWC and as of late I have been mocked I have been ridiculed and I have been told that I dont have it that I am a weak link in this group and they pass it off that it is Grey that they were calling weak, but I know what the truth is. No one thinks that I can get this done. Well guess what they better be watching tonight when a caged animal is kept in a cage with blood in it because I will hurt and maim anyone that gets in my way tonight.
Seth closes his eyes and feels the scar that is on his forehead and then nods it.
Seth Lawless: Coda, Honey. I know you are probably thinking that you are in some danger, and you know what you are. Coda, it will be fun to fight you in that ring and make you suffer and as for Honey well she is sweet and all of that but she is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She will get hurt as well and Coda that is going to be on you. You could have kept your mouth shut but you kept pushing and pushing and that is why you are here. I had a bad night last night and honestly I will take it out on you two.
Seth nods his head once more.
Seth Lawless: As for Grey and I. He and I talked and yeah I might not like him that much but I know what that bastard is capable of in that ring. And that is why I am glad he is on my side because the bastard will never die, and well that is just a damn good thing because this war has just started and I am damn happy to have a ghost on my side.
Seth spits on the ground as he walks off and the scene fades.
MATCH SEVEN: SINGLES MATCH
Daniela Pacelli vs Brendan Callaghan
wrote:
Winner: Daniela Pacelli
Finishing Move: Roll-Up
Near Falls: Daniela Pacelli (1), Brendan Callaghan (0)
Match Length: 00:08
Match Notes:
The bell rung but then the lights when out. When they turned back on, Voidstar was standing on the apron, staring at Brendan Callaghan, who was wearing a Ghostbusters outfit still. Brendan froze, like he had just seen a ghost and Daniela rolled him up and got the three count.
Post Match:
Daniela wasnt as lucky as Voidstar had caught her in his grasps. He then took her out with The Abyss (packaged piledriver). Daniela was out but Voidstar dragged her out of the ring and then flipped her up on his shoulder. Brendan looked on from the crowd and Voidstar dared him to come near him but Brendan refused, even though Daniela was clearly in trouble. Voidstar then laughed before walking off towards the back with Daniela on his shoulder before disappearing out of site.
BACKSTAGE
Cutting backstage we see Honey, once again, hanging up a detective hat and coat with a magnifying glass poking out of her pocket, something she wore in Mexico the day after last week. Tim Anderson is first to spot her, hotdog in hand. She smiles at him as he gives her a closed mouth smile back to not show off his food in his mouth and tries to make a quick getaway, still nervous Honeys friend would be about to steal his hotdog.
Honey: Be brave, Honey.
She mutters to herself about the upcoming match, with hell in a cell against three opponents put there by Nathan Callaghan.
Honey obviously blocks the entrance trying to cheerlead herself quietly with her backpack on behind her. Thats when the door opens behind her and out steps the Liberty champion, Melissa Reeves. Theres a momentary pause as the two women turn to face each other, before Melissa smiles.
Melissa: Honey, hey.
Reeves slowly closes the door behind herself, alerting Honey who turns around.
Melissa: How you doing?
Honey: Hi!
This was the first time Honey was so close to the Liberty Title as her eyes grew at the sight of the title.
Honey: Thats a very pretty title, Melissa!
Showing how easily distracted she sometimes got, especially as nerves built up on her, both match and star presence.
Reeves looks down at the title, sat on her shoulder, and then smiles back at Honey.
Melissa: It is.
She nods.
Melissa: But its also the reason half the people around her want to kick my ass. So, dont let how pretty it is distract you, these titles come with a lot of responsibility too.
Honey nods, almost taking everything, she said in as gospel.
Honey: Me and Coda once got to, like, fight for the CWC tag titles once! But, um, ...
Honey sort of calls Melissa down to Honeys 53 level, as she wasnt the type to wear heels casually, and whispers.
Honey: I dont think the Society played very fair
To Honey, that was quite a shock as she commented on Trent Grundys mild interference in their tag match which Honey held in high regard for her two close as can be falls and obviously put out the body language it still got to her just a tiny bit that there wasnt an even playing field. Rubbing her arm, she wondered if the hell in a cell would be the same, given shed seen her cousin Trixies one and only match where interference struck from under the ring despite the cell.
Unsurprised, Melissa scoffs and rolls her eyes.
Melissa: No, of course they didnt. They never do. You need to be careful with them. I know first-hand how dangerous they can be. Maybe not individually, but then you rarely find one of them in isolation.
She places a hand on Honeys shoulder.
Melissa: But dont let it get to you. Like me, youll beat them in the end.
Honey tenses her lips together as her eyes lock with Melissas, giving her then the little twinge of a smile which grew into Honeys happy one. A rush of excitement through her as she got the stamp approval of the best in the business who put said she was like her.
Honey: THANK YOU!
Honey blurts out happily, a little louder than she expected and chortles after.
Honey: And be careful with Anastasia, like, what happened last week wasnt very nice.
She shakes her head, and unsuspectedly looks over Melissas forehead for any signs of bumps or swelling from the She Was Only Seventeen she suffered last week. But there is no sign of damage. Not visibly, anyway.
Melissa: Ana is a slippery, devious chick. But so was Becky, and I got the best of her when it mattered. Still, thanks, I do appreciate it. And you be careful tonight, yeah? Big match out there. Im hoping to see you win.
Honey tilts her head ever so slightly to the side, trying to be cool with a happy smile coupled with a snap of her fingers.
Honey: I will! And good luck in your match too! I have to go find Coda and tell her all this good advice!
She politely gives Melissa a handshake before zooming off and lets one of her strawberry kitkats in her bag escape on her turn at Melissas feet. Reeves steps forward and crouches, picking the kitkat up, but Honeys already gone. She shrugs and places it in her pocket before continuing on her way.
MATCH EIGHT: HANDICAPPED HELL IN A CELL
#TheSociety (Malone, Lawless, Grundy) vs Coda & Honey
wrote:
Winner: #TheSociety
Finishing Move: Triple Powerbomb
Near Falls: Honey (1), Coda (1), Seth (1), Gray (1), Trent (2)
Match Length: 15:43
Match Notes:
The match starts with Honey and Coda talking about the upcoming match in their corner. Once a small smile crosses Honeys lips in response to her partners words, the two prepare for battle as Seth Lawless and Gray Malone glare back at them with flared nostrils and fiery eyes of rage. Trent Grundy steps to the center of the ring and opens his arms wide to offer Honey a hug before the match was set to begin. Seth looks flabbergasted and Coda tries to tell Honey no but the two ignore their teammates and hug it out in the center of the ring as Trent smiles like a soothed bear. Seth shouts at Trent and clotheslines Honey before Coda responds with an emphatic running forearm smash straight to Seths jaw, knocking the larger man backwards!
The bell rings and Coda continues to set her sights on Seth as Honey climbs back to her feet to look face-to-face with Trent Grundy once again. Honey took him down with a hard superkick that sent him flying out of the ring. Honey exited the ring and went to grab Trent but Gray came out of nowhere and speared her straight through the cage, knocking out of the the sides. Gray then began to climb the cage and Seth followed. They were followed by Coda and Honey as well. They all reached the top and began to battle above. Seth Lawless tries to throw Honey off the cell, carrying her completely but Coda stops them with a mad dash but ultimately is flung off the cell herself and she crashed through one of the tables with the contents of it flying everywhere. After Honey hits a double busaiku knee strike and then peers down on her hands and knees, eyes just poking over the cell to see Coda.
Honey made the decision to make her way down the cage and get back in the ring where she was dealing with Trent. Honey and Trent battled back and forth before Honey took him out with a running high knee. Seth entered the ring and Honey got him with a buzzsaw kick before Gray came into the mix and he took Honey out with a chair. The three began to beat Honey down as the numbers game became too much. The three #Society members then took Honey out with a Triple Powerbomb before they set her up for another and dropped her a second time. They continued to toy with Honey but she eventually found a burst of energy as she picked up the chair and hit Gray in the face with it. She then took Seth out by slamming it on his back. Trent took Honey out with a big boot but miraculously, Coda returned to the match. She hit Trent with a superkick before pinning him but he kicked out. Coda got up and Gray took her down with a spear. The three Society members then grabbed Coda and dropped her with a Triple Powerbomb and Gray pinned her for the three count.
Post Match:
#TheSociety celebrated their victory with the cage raising and The Followers getting into the ring to celebrate with them. Coda and Honey were both out of it, as they had given one hell of a fight but it was too much as the number games and size difference caught up to them.
BACKSTAGE
Riley Savell sits backstage in the locker room, earbuds secured in her ears as she listens to the same playlist she always does. Dressed in her ring gear already she has her back pressed up against the lockers, seated on the floor. She rests her elbows on her knees and between her legs sits both the Gotham and Canadian Championships, her eyes staring down at them, focusing in on her name on the faceplates.
Despite the loud music playing directly into her ears, she hears the door open and footsteps approach, she stares at the shoes in front of her as she slides her earbuds out and looks up at Rylan Sweet with a slight frown,
Riley Savell: Well, youre the last person I expected back here come to rally the troop?
Rylan shrugs and kicks at her boots with the toe of his shoe.
Rylan Sweet: Nah. I just wanted to check on you. I was a little bit of an ass earlier and I know how easily your feelings get hurt.
He grinned down at her before nodding at the belts.
Rylan Sweet: Those are nice by the way.
She looks back down at the belts with a smile on her face and nods, quiet for a moment.
Riley Savell: I still cant quite believe it, you know? Not that I won, duh. Its ME. But that Ive actually climbed so high so fast, all those people who kept saying I was nobody and where are they now?
She looks back to Rylan now, resting her head against the lockers.
Riley Savell: Even Julian, he didnt believe I could do this. Not be so successful so quickly I kinda wonder how long itll be before people start just referring to him as Rileys sister. That would be awesome.
Ryan smirks into a laugh as he nods along.
Rylan Sweet: Personally I try to not think of your brother at all, period. But yeah, youre the one with all the gold at the moment. Then again you wont be a Nelson or a Savell for long, will you?
Riley Savell: Until May thats what I said.
She looks down at the belts again and runs her hand over the Gotham Championship.
Riley Savell: If he even still wants to marry me after tonight. Sometimes I feel like there are two different worlds both screaming for my attention and Im just trying to make them fit. He doesnt always get it, how I cant just slow down, not now I might be just starting out but my career is fucking red hot, hitting the breaks now? Itd be career suicide.
Rylan shrugs as he runs his hand along one of the benches, exhaling while looking away from her.
Rylan Sweet: I believe hes under the impression that if push really came to shove youd give this all up for him.
He turns to look over at her.
Rylan Sweet: Not that hed want that but I think he takes solace in knowing youd prefer career suicide over losing him.
She nods quietly before tearing her eyes away from the belts.
Riley Savell: You know, youre really fucking shit at pep talks Ry
He laughs before walking over and gently punching her shoulder.
Rylan Sweet: Thats the thing Riles. You dont need me for pep talks. Youve got that shit covered. You need me for reality checks because this
His points to the belts and then motions to the locker room and the arena around them.
Rylan Sweet: ...all this, is huge and sometimes you can get caught up in it. Youre doing great. Im proud of you. Ashers proud of you. Just keep things in perspective so I dont have to slap you around.
He playfully jabs at her chin before winking at her. She snaps her teeth at him pretending to bite for his finger before she shakes her head.
Riley Savell: Hey now mascot, dont get cocky! I can still kick your ass! Not your face though, Meg would never forgive me if I messed up that pretty face of yours.
She laughs softly before dropping into a frown.
Riley Savell: It is huge Ry, it is and its more than I dreamed of sometimes, it takes over and I can be intolerable, but thats also what gets me noticed my mouth, my looks, they go hand in hand with my talent
She picks up the belts and moves to a standing position, drawing up to her full height.
Riley Savell: I made history last night and a little bit from now, Im going to go out there and Im going to remind everyone in this place why they should fucking hope and pray I dont set my sights on them.
She smirks at Rylan.
Riley Savell: See, THAT is a pep talk.
Rylan laughs before walking over, placing a hand on either side of her face and kissing her atop the head.
Rylan Sweet: Give em hell kid.
With that he stepped back and smiled.
Rylan Sweet: Glad we had this talk.
With another wink he turned and exited the locker room. After he leaves, Riley turns her back to the door and holds the belts out in her hands, as she looks them over a huge smile spreads across her face.
Riley Savell: Well Guys, its just you and me now Lets fuck some shit up!
HEADLINE: TRIPLE THREAT FOR THE GOTHAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Riley Savell© vs Felix Vialpando vs Zeke Reed
wrote:
Winner: Riley Savell
Finishing Move: Savell Stomp
Near Falls: Felix (3), Zeke (2), Riley (2)
Match Length: 13:43
Match Notes:
The match kicked off with Riley rolling out of the ring, leaving Felix and Zeke inside. The two former foes glared at each other before Zeke charged Felix and took him out with a clothesline. The two battled back and forth as Riley, who clearly had a rough night last night in Empire, watched on and took her time from the outside. Zeke eventually looked to go for American History X on Felix but Riley entered the ring and speared him to the ground. She pinned Zeke but he kicked out after two. Riley picked Zeke up and the two battled for sometime back and forth but eventually, Reed elbowed her into the ribs and she keeled over. Zeke then took her out with American History X.
He went to pin her but Felix it up after the one count. He threw Zeke out of the ring and pinned Riley himself but she kicked out after two. Felix tried to keep Riley down, hitting her with a plethora of strikes and suplexes but she was resilient as she continued to kick out of his pinfall attempts. Zeke would get back in the ring and he took Felix out with a spear. He pinned him but Felix kicked out. Zeke got up to his knees and Riley came from out of nowhere and hit him with the Savell Stomp (Curbstomp). She pinned him but only got a two when Felix broke it up. Felix rolled up Riley and held her tights but she kicked out at two. Felix then went for a clothesline on Riley but she ducked it before grabbing Felix by his head and dropping him with The Crowning (Headlock Driver). She pinned Felix and got the three count and the win.
Post Match:
Riley quickly rolled out of the ring as she grabbed her Canadian and Gotham Championships from ringside. She raised them both in the air and smirked as she looked over at Felix and Zeke, who both looked frustrated before they ended up staring each other down. Felix pulled out a notepad as he looked at Zeke and then Riley and began to vigorously take notes as Zeke rolled his eyes.
BACKSTAGE
Continuing on from earlier, Melissa Reeves is once again shown walking through the backstage area of the arena. The title still sits at her shoulder and her walk is a confident strut. And then it slows...and stops. The camera pans and ahead stands her longtime rival, Becky Balfour-Lawless.
Melissa: Becky.
She stares at Balfour without any hesitation, but without seeming to be aggressive. For once, Becky is alone. Not a Follower or fellow Society member in sight.
Becky: Melissa.
Beckys focus is immediately drawn to the Liberty championship that sits on her rivals shoulder. She reaches out and touches the title, prompting Melissa to take a single step back.
Becky: Its poetic. You. Me. This moment. Inside a cage, for that.
Now out of reach, Becky keeps her eyes locked on the championship that she once held.
Becky: Isnt it also poetic that I asked for this match to be in a cage? To keep Ascendancy out? I know youre probably under the assumption that I made a mistake. My family also will be locked out...but I can beat you.
Becky finally removes her eyes from the championship and looks the longest running Liberty champion in her eyes.
Becky: Youve blown me off. Youve overlooked me. Youve arrogantly assumed that there isnt a single person in this company that can defeat you, but youre wrong. Ive overcame odds from the moment I decided to train to become a wrestler, and tonight? I become the only two time champion in this companys history.
Reeves scoffs.
Melissa: You know...Ive never claimed youre not skilled. Ive never claimed that youre not good enough, nor have I ever tried to dismiss you. Youre the biggest threat to this title in this company, period. Not Ana Hayden, not Zeke Reed, you. And our rivalry? Its storied. Its the cornerstone of this company. You vs me. Tonights another chapter in that story. But no matter which way it goes, that will not end the book.
She looks to the title at her shoulder, then back to Becky.
Melissa: You want this back. I get it.
She shrugs.
Melissa: And youll do your damndest to try and do exactly that. But what I think you never understood, Becky, is that I want your damndest. I want your very best. I was never interested in fighting you and your twenty goons. No. I wanted you, one-on-one, because that is the challenge that I seek.
Taking a deep breath, she maintains her glare at Becky.
Melissa: So tonight, locking them out? Locking Ascendancy out? It gives me exactly what I wanted, Becky. You vs me. Reeves vs Balfour. No BS, no randoms getting involved, just a test of might between Libertys best.
Becky seems taken aback, not expecting Melissa to give her the respect that she felt has eluded her for her entire run in Liberty so far.
Becky: Then tonight this is it. A cage...a champion, and a challenger.
Balfour Lawlesss eyes move to the championship once more as she then sees someone approaching behind Melissa. Instinctively, Reeves drops the title from her shoulder and into her hands.
Becky: STOP!
Two Followers stop dead in their tracks behind the Liberty champion. Melissa looks back and sneers at them, but soon looks back to Becky.
Becky: Tonight is about her...and me. You and the rest of The Followers have the night off.
The Followers remain frozen, their eyes on Becky. Becky shrieks.
Becky: I said get the hell out of here! GO!
The two Followers snap out of their almost trance-like state and turn around, walking the opposite direction away from Melissa.
Becky: May the best wrestler win.
Becky extends her hand, looking Melissa directly in the eyes. Reeves throws the title back up onto her shoulder, checking behind herself again for a moment, before she takes the outstretched hand.
Melissa: May the best wrestler win. See you out there, Becky.
The champion pulls away, breaking their handshake and walks away before Becky can say anything further.
MAIN EVENT: HELL IN A CELL FOR THE LIBERTY CHAMPIONSHIP
Melissa Reeves© vs Becky Balfour
wrote:
Match Notes:
It was now time for the main event and the ring staff had patched up the cage from the earlier carnage in the night. This match started off with Becky Balfour as the aggressor, as she charged Melissa Reeves and took her down with a spear. Becky mounted Melissa and delivered a few hard shots to her face before getting screaming at at Melissa. Becky stood up and picked Melissa up with her before she whipped Reeves hard into the corner. Melissa hit the corner with a thud before Becky charged and she hit Melissa with a helluva kick. Reeves collapsed to the canvas and Becky pinne her but Reeves kicked out after one. Becky exited the ring and grabbed a chair before sliding back in with it. She swung it at Reeves, who had just managed to get to her feet, but Melissa ducked under the chair shot. Becky turned around and Melissa hit her with Facial Deconstructor (Codebreaker) into the chair but somehow Becky managed to kick out after two. Melissa looked around in shock, she couldnt believe that Becky had kicked out. Melissa grabbed Becky and tossed her over the ropes before following her to the outside of the ring. Melissa grabbed Becky by her legs before slingshotting her right into the unforgiving steel cage.
Balfour rolled around in pain as she held her face. Melissa then grabbed Becky and slingshotted her a second time, this time even harder than before and Beckys face hit into it hard. She dropped to the mat outside and held her forehead, where blood started to pour out. Melissa grabbed a few more chairs from under the ring and threw them inside of the ring. She then grabbed a table and sit it up on the outside. She went to grab Becky but Balfour had grabbed a kendo stick from under the ring while Mel wasnt looking and she whacked it right into Reeves midsection. Melissa stumbled back holding onto her stomach before Becky slammed the kendo stick over her back and then Becky grabbed Melissa from behind and hit Hear Me Out (Reverse DDT). Becky picked Reeves up and rolled her into the ring before going for the pin but Melissa kicked out.
Becky looked frustrated before she climbed up the turnbuckle, looking to go for something big but Melissa found a burst of energy as she got up to her feet and charged the turnbuckle before charging up it. The two began to fight back and forth, throwing punches at each other before they both lost their balance and they crashed right through the table that Melissa had set up on the outside. Fans started to cheer HOLY SHIT!, HOLY SHIT!, HOLY SHIT!, as Becky and Melissa were laid out on the outside of the ring. It took some time before the two stumbled up onto their feet and they began to slowly trade blows. Becky eventually gained the lead when she kicked Reeves in the gut and then slammed her head into the cage wall. Becky slammed Melissas head into it over and over before Mel dropped down to her knees and she had started to bleed now too.
Balfour stepped back and waited for Reeves to get to her feet. Melissa stumbled up, using the cage for leverage to stand when Becky charged Melissa and went for a spear but Melissa dodged it and Becky went shoulder first into the cage, right into the weak spot that had been taken out earlier in the night and Becky crashed through it, breaking the cage wall down. Melissa laid down for a minute to catch her breath and gather herself before getting up and walking out of the cage. Melissa looked around before she picked Becky up and set her down on the announcer table. Melissa then looked up at the cage and the fans went nuts. Melissa decided to climb up the cell but when she reached the top, Becky started to climb as well. Melissa waited for Becky to get to the top.
When Becky did, the two battled back and forth with Becky tackling Melissa down. Becky laid a few shots into Melissa but Melissa rolled Becky over and laid in some shots of her own. Becky shoved Melissa off before thumbing her in the eye. Melissa staggered and Becky grabbed her in the center of the cage and went for Hear Me Out (Reverse DDT) but Melissa slipped out of it before hitting Becky with the Reaver Slam (Angle Slam) right in the middle of the top of the cell and the weight of the move caused the ceiling to give out and Becky and Melissa crashed down to the canvas. The two laid motionless but they each had one arm over each other. The referee looked around confused before dropping to his knees and using both hands to count to three and the bell rang.
Post Match:
Becky and Melissa werent moving as the cell began to raise. The referee walked over to ringside and explained the situation to the announcer. It was soon announced that Melissa and Becky had pinned each other, thus making the match a draw. Medical staff rushed down to ringside to check on Becky and Melissa, neither of which were moving as the fans in attendance looked on in confusion as to what happened and who is the rightful Liberty Champion.
Winner: Draw
Finishing Move: Reaver Slam through ceiling of the Hell In A Cell
Near Falls: Becky (2), Melissa (3)
