The arena lights dimmed, signaling the beginning of the Sorting Ceremony. Sophie Grimes stepped into the center of the room with her usual poise, her sharp gaze settling on the rows of eager recruits. “Welcome to the Crucible Academy Sorting Ceremony. Tonight, each of you will be assigned to a faction, led by some of the most ruthless, skilled, and revered names in wrestling. This is your path, your family… or at least, that’s how it should feel if you’re lucky enough to be in the right place.”
She gestured to the faction heads: Chris Night for Nightfall, Julian Savell for The Division, Nathan Callaghan for the Southie Syndicate, and Kiki Masters for Legion. Each leader carried their own air of authority, their eyes narrowed as they studied the fresh talent before them.
Nightfall
Chris Night took his place, his posture composed yet commanding. “Nightfall is about more than just skill; it’s about honor, discipline, and the relentless pursuit of excellence,” he declared. His gaze scanned the room until it landed on his first pick.
“Jaime Idol,” Chris said, a hint of a grin slipping through. “You have the raw talent and that unapologetic flair that reminds me of someone… someone who also learned the importance of doing things the right way. Consider this your chance to live up to your potential, Jaime. Nightfall’s door is open if you’re ready to take the high road.”
Jaime offered a subtle smirk and nodded, clearly pleased. Julian scowled in response, his resentment unmistakable.
Chris moved on, calling out the next name. “Maya Hardy. You’re tough, you’re talented, and you’ve got a family legacy to carry forward. Nightfall will see to it that you’re more than just a name.”
“Eileen Dorne,” Chris continued, nodding as she made her way over. “You bring an edge, but you’re disciplined, and I think you’ll do well here.”
As Chris announced the remaining names—Leonard Martinez and the McCarthy Twins, Shakura and Amalija—he paused, letting his gaze linger on each recruit, clearly proud of Nightfall's selections. "Leonard Martinez," he said, his voice carrying a tone of respect, "a man who knows what it means to fight for something greater than himself. Firefighter or wrestler, Leonard’s got the heart and strength to set a new standard here." His eyes shifted briefly to Julian, a subtle challenge in them, before he continued.
“Shakura and Amalija McCarthy,” Chris continued with a hint of a smile, “strength in unity, yet each with their own drive. These two know how to stand their ground—and when they walk into the ring together, they become a force that even the strongest will struggle against.”
He directed a last, knowing look at Julian, as if to silently communicate, I'm taking the best for Nightfall—whether you like it or not.
Chris stepped back, his posture resolute, ready to let the other heads process what these final additions to Nightfall meant for the competition.
Julian’s glare was daggers. “Let’s see if you can keep up with them, Night,” he muttered.
Chris simply raised an eyebrow, unfazed.
The Division
Julian Savell stepped forward, exuding an air of superiority. His grin was taunting as he prepared to announce his selections. “The Division isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s for those who have no problem with a little chaos… and who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty.”
He let his gaze fall on his brother, “Ozzie Savell, front and center. You’re everything The Division stands for—fearless, ruthless, and ready to carve out your own path. Let’s show everyone what we’re really made of.”
Ozzie’s smirk mirrored his brother’s as he joined Julian’s side. “Let’s burn it down,” he muttered, drawing a proud nod from Julian.
“Kitara dela Torre,” Julian continued, eyeing her with a sharp grin. “You’re more than just words. You’ve got a fire that’ll fit perfectly with us, even if you don’t quite realize it yet. Trust me… you will.”
Kitara gave him a nod, her confidence steady as she joined The Division.
Next, Julian called out the LaCroix Sisters, Clarissa and “Bombshell” Val. “I see potential in both of you—potential to disrupt, to dominate. Let’s make sure everyone else sees it too.”
The sisters joined with a cool, shared nod.
Next, Julian’s eyes found his fifth pick. “Sarai Atana. I know your brand of chaos, and The Division will make sure you get the spotlight you crave.”
Sarai’s grin was filled with an excited malice as she joined Julian’s ranks.
Julian looked satisfied as he announced the final addition for The Division.
"And last but certainly not least, Rey Veneno." Julian’s smirk grew. "A masked competitor who’s more than willing to take shortcuts, break rules, and make sure everyone knows his name. Rey, you’re right where you belong—in a faction that rewards cunning and doesn’t hold back."
Julian’s eyes met Chris’s across the room as the two glared at each other.

Legion
Kiki Masters stepped forward, her demeanor dark and intense, with an enigmatic smile that spoke volumes. “Legion isn’t for everyone,” she began, her voice low and cold. “It’s for the ones who don’t belong anywhere else, who don’t fit neatly into little boxes. It’s where we take the outcasts and turn them into powerhouses.”
Kiki’s eyes moved to the two women from Boston’s Finest, Summer O'Reilly and Bella Ferranti. “Summer and Bella, you’re both chaotic, but there’s a method to it that I like. Legion will make sure no one overlooks you again.”
The two women exchanged a look of satisfaction as they joined their new faction.

She let her gaze settle on Zxavier Young, her smile growing. “Zxavier, you’re different. And in Legion, being different is what makes you dangerous. I want to see just how far you’re willing to go.”
Zxavier smirked, clearly pleased, and took his place beside Kiki.
Her gaze then fell on Colt Anderson. “You’ve got that raw aggression we need, Colt. We’re going to turn that into something unstoppable.”
Colt gave her a nod, and there was a mutual understanding between them.'
Finally, Kiki called, “Haven West. Something tells me you’ll fit in with us just fine. Legion will give you the room to be yourself, without compromise.”
Haven joined her faction with a sly grin.
The Southie Syndicate
Nathan Callaghan didn’t waste any time stepping forward. With a broad grin and a thick Bostonian accent, he greeted the recruits. “Alright, let’s get one thing clear—The Southie Syndicate’s for the fighters, the ones who aren’t afraid to scrap. We’re rough, we’re rowdy, and we don’t give a damn about playin’ nice.”
He gestured to his first pick. “Charli, you’ve got a dangerous streak, and that’s exactly what The Southie Syndicate needs. You bring that fire, and we’ll make sure it burns everyone who gets in your way.”
Charli’s grin was nothing short of wicked as she joined the Syndicate.
Next up was Kian Laroux. “Kian Laroux. You’re cocky, and you got an attitude. You’ll fit right in with us.”
Kian nodded, smirking as he joined Nathan.
Nathan continued, calling two names at once. “Jade and Ruby Callaghan. You’re family, and you got that fightin’ spirit. Welcome to the Syndicate.”
The Callaghan sisters, nieces to Nathan, joined him, their eyes alight with shared ambition.
Finally, Nathan called the last two recruits, the brothers from The Last Airbenders, Ray Dougie and Kenny Dougie. “Ray, Kenny—you boys love high-risk, high-reward, and you ain’t afraid of takin’ a beatin’ to get what you want. That’s Southie Syndicate right there.”
The Dougie brothers nodded with enthusiasm as they joined the Syndicate.
After the Sorting Ceremony
The recruits gathered with their new factions, each taking in the weight of the moment. Sophie Grimes looked at the four faction heads, her voice breaking the silence.
“Congratulations, everyone. You’re all now part of something greater. But remember, this is just the beginning.”
Chris met Julian’s gaze without flinching. “Discipline beats chaos, Julian. Every time. They’ll find that out soon enough.”
Nathan laughed, glancing between the two of them. “Aw, would ya look at that? The teacher and the wayward student, still at each other’s throats. Some things never change.”
Kiki smirked before she rolled her eyes. “They can settle their feud however they like. Legion’s got no time for nostalgia.”
Julian’s eyes darkened as he stepped closer to Chris, his voice a low, dangerous murmur. “Just remember, Night—you may have taught me, but you’re not the only one who’s evolved.”
Chris’s expression hardened, meeting Julian’s gaze head-on. “And you’re not the only one who knows how this ends, Julian. Just remember who taught you in the first place.”
Sophie watched the tension between them rise before she intervened, her tone calm but firm. “Save it for the ring, gentlemen. This year’s first ever Crucible is just getting started.”
The faction heads broke their standoff, each casting one last look at their recruits before stepping back. The Sorting Ceremony was over, but the games were just beginning.
