For those that can't view docs for any manner of reasons
Hii, good morning everyone, and thanks for subscribing to r/TrinityTalksWrestling, the home of the only queen who’s wrestling opinion you care about! Before we start, don’t forget to upvote, comment, and press the follow button so you get these blogs in your feed hot off the press! Today we’re going to be looking in-depth at The Crucible Academy, which coincidentally is the newest place my bff Alizay Perkins has shown up to ply her craft!
First match is The Last Airbenders versus The McCarthy Twins (who?) and I don’t think I learned much more than their names after this match that looked like something that might be good at selling a hundred tickets in a national guard armory. A shooting star followed by a dropkick to the outside wrapped it up. 1½ stars, though maybe this is 2 stars in a hot market like Chicago.
Next match we have Kitara dela Torre and Ray Veneno (who we saw get together pre-match) versus Zxavier Young and Angun Chen (who?) for a classic match of new partners working in tandem with the other. The crowd was pretty into this well rounded match, right up to and including the final moments with a miscue from Zxavier and an emphatic DDT from Kitara to end the match. A solid 2¾ stars, could have topped 3 stars had they opened the show to heat the crowd.
Our third match of the evening has been building through the show, and with the hype on social channels, looks like we’ve got a main event contender here with Maya Hardy and Leonard Martinez (who names their kid “Leonard”, eww that’s such an old man name) versus Ozzie Savell (hooray, one of the guys that got our girl Alizay her shot, no I’m not bias at all) and Sarai Atani. Between Leonard carrying alleged-royalty Maya, and Sarai’s calculated strikes met only by Ozzie’s ruthless leadership, this match had Division stamped all over it. What’s this, Jamie Idol? The man can barely walk. Where’s Ozzie’s concentrai — no, no, no, not this way, oh c’mon, a roll up? The only real offensive move Maya landed and it’s the difference maker. What on Earth…a 2½ star match that could have been a 4 star until Maya ruined the whole thing with that end of match hail mary. Shaking my head here guys, what are we even doing, what the hell was that?!
Our fourth match is Summer O’Reilly (no relation to Bill, question mark) and Jade Callaghan versus The LaCroix Sisters, and I’ve seen Clarissa around some. Of course we’ve had some run-ins with Jade as well and if I have to pick one…well, no, I better not say it because I’m a journalist and I have to remain bipartisan of course. There’s bodies fighting in the ring, out of the ring, a weaponized assault by a mystery assailant (I agree Maeve, it probably in fact was Maya Hardy; she looks like the vengeful type) and then…what? Jade chooses not to kick out from the DDT? Clearly a direct shot at Summer O’Reilly, she sacrificed herself to spite her rival. I don’t hate that. In what would have been a standard car crash match I was prepared to low-ball, that added drama actually increases my rating; a solid 3 star match. More than I’d have expected from Jade, but at least the right team won.
Our fifth match might as well be the main event with Ruby Callaghen versus our totally-not-biased star, Alizay Perkins — and you’ll even see some of me too! To my surprise, this match actually stayed on the level with both women sharing equal amounts of offense, Ruby shines with her speed and aerialness while Alizay grounds her back to reality. It’s a great blend of activity that’ll keep any crowd engaged, which makes this a minimum three stars. But then the drama elevated when Ruby directed her attention on ME, a non-wrestler in the match, and my BFF Alizay was able to catch her with a clean knockout punch, totally-legit-with-no-ulterior-connotations, mhm, because sometimes, even as fast as you are, all it takes is One Lucky PunchTM to find yourself in the L column instead of the W. What I’m saying is, the right person won, because of course she did, and that makes this a 4¼ star match. And that’s without mentioning the visual gem of ya gurl and I standing there on the ramp with our fingers in the shape of an L on our foreheads. Bet Ruby is gonna be mad when she wakes up and realizes she talked all that noise for no good reason…
And finally, that brings us to the actual billed main event, of Colt Anderson and Haven West versus Charli Rozzi and Kian Laroux. Let’s see if it can out-work that clinical masterclass of a match we just saw! Fast tags and even offense would make this match hard to call which led to Kian to turn the tides…but his gambit failed horrifically as he nailed his partner (P.S. maybe call my BFF if you want advice on how to actually hit a knockout punch 😘) and as it turns out, that was enough to turn the tides as one Colt 45 later and we have our winner, clean and decisively in the center of the ring. Overall, it’s not a bad match, a good way to end the show. 3½ stars is a reasonable rating for this main event.
And that’s our show folks! Thank you all for your subscriptions and I hope you enjoyed my detailed and totally-unbiased-journalism here bringing you only the facts! Signing off;
